Hello, MKMB Members, Parents/Guardians,

Good evening after Band Camp Day One! Thank you to everyone who volunteered for this first day of band camp which can often be the most challenging. Based on today, we have the below "tweaks" and a special request of all volunteer parents. Please also remember that your pool party RSVP is due TONIGHT. It was a GREAT first day - let's keep it going!

Special Volunteer Request: Anyone who has signed up via Sign Up Genius to help this week, please go to your confirmation email and click "edit my sign up" and please add your CELL PHONE NUMBER to your sign-up - I am sure you will understand why I'm asking for this :)

**VOLUNTEERS: A FEW UPDATES**

  • Morning Set-up Parents - Please arrive at 7:30 AM the rest of the week. Now that we have completed day one, a 7 AM setup time is no longer necessary to complete all tasks.
  • Watermelon Table - The Watermelon table is to be placed up under the tent. Bring the blue watermelon cooler up and place under the table until it is needed.
  • Gatorade Drop-Off - Please leave Gatorade in the band room hallway in the morning. Helpers will pack them in the coolers with ice.
  • Watermelon Drop-Off - Watermelon trays can be placed inside the light blue cooler.
  • Lunch Parents - Please arrive no later than 11:45 am. Today we had to use the choir room for lunch; however, we should be able to use the "second cafeteria" or "senior cafeteria" from now on. PLEASE BE FLEXIBLE just in case another group is using the space and we need to make a quick change. Arriving by at least 11:45 am ensures we are present to accept the lunch delivery when it arrives and that we have enough time to confirm the cafeteria is available or make alternative arrangements. (It may be helpful to organize lunches by last name if there is time.)
  • Lunch Chaperones - Students are to remain in the cafeteria to eat and dispose of garbage. At 12:30 pm, some students may move to the band room if they so choose. At least one parent will stay in the cafe and one parent will go to the band room. Students should remain in the assigned lunch space or the band room for the remainder of the lunch hour and must not roam the hallways or elsewhere on the property during lunch. All garbage should be cleaned up. No food should be in the band room. Students cannot leave school grounds.
  • Lunch Drinks - The students were provided with lunch drinks today from the Gatorade supply but for future reference, drinks are not included with the meals from Simply Gourmet. There was a drop-down for additional items. Drinks and desserts were an optional add-on and Gatorades are reserved for their breaks at 3 PM. HOWEVER, if your child enjoyed something different at lunch today, you may call Simply Gourmet ASAP at: 973-891-1955 to update your orders which can be done even for tomorrow if completed by 9am. 
  • Breakdown Teams - You may simply lower tents (but leave in place), remove covers and take covers and tent bags back inside with the other supplies.
