Heather Christie MD Functional and Aesthetic Medicine featured in Voyage Tampa

Heather Christie’s journey to becoming a doctor has been anything but linear. Initially pursuing a career in business after studying at San Diego State University, she realized her true calling lay in medicine. Despite the challenges of balancing medical school at Tulane University and family life, she graduated in 2005 and completed her Family Medicine Residency at Duke University in 2008. After years in private practice, she shifted her focus to Functional Medicine, moving to St. Petersburg in 2019 and opening her own practice in 2020. Heather now blends traditional and holistic approaches to help patients heal naturally.

Changes at Caregiver PAWS; Friends of Strays to carry on their mission

Excerpt from Caregiver PAWS Newsletter:

Many of you know Stephanie Edwards, Founder and President of Caregiver PAWS Connection, relocated this year from St. Petersburg to Asheville, NC. With that transition, and after extended consultation and consideration, the Board of Directors have decided to wind down Caregiver PAWS and the Furry Godparent and Pet Resource Directory programs in place since 2020.

It is with great pleasure, however, that we are announcing the opportunity for Caregiver PAWS to endorse our partnering shelter, Friends of Strays, to use their existing programs to accomplish our original mission “to educate our community on the healing and nurturing power of pets and provide resources and solutions that enable seniors and their family member caregivers to care for their current pets or to bring new pets into their lives.” The capable and caring staff at Friends of Strays will facilitate the same positive (or should we say PAWSitive?) outcomes that the Furry Godparent program generated, but directly through their foster, adoption and guardianship initiatives.
