Based on ticket sales, audience response, and survey results, our chamberhood is happy with CFW’s 2024 Festival. That makes us happy too!

95% of respondents were satisfied or very satisfied with the festival. Almost all respondents said they’re interested in attending other CFW events outside of the festival season.

“That’s good news, as we are well into planning our first Shoulder Season concert for Calgary on May 8 and Canmore on May 10,” says Heather Bourne, chair of CFW’s board.

As always, our survey respondents had some candid and constructive feedback on venues, seating, the ticketing platform and the musical program.  All of these will be considered as CFW’s board and staff review the 2024 season and begin planning for 2025.

Overall, the enthusiasm of our chamberhood comes through loud and clear. Here are some excerpts that tell us we’re meeting the CFW promise of “inventive programming, international musicians, and outstanding performances”:

“I liked the variety. I think we heard something new to us at every concert. I also liked the informal introductions, and the humorous moments in both music and talk (not to mention Nicks 'My new cello' film). The amazing Mr. Lumanovski was a special treat!”

“I brought a friend and she was blown away by the performances. A new convert!”

“I love the programming and the spectacularly high level of artists that are involved. I also like the very broad idea you have of what constitutes “chamber music”, and the mixture of standard classical repertory with works that are unfamiliar and unusual.”

“The music always stretches my understanding and takes my thinking in new directions.

“The opening bars of the Mozart Piano Quartet brought tears to my eyes. I feel so fortunate to have experienced such accomplished and gifted musicians. Thank you for such uplifting experiences.”

“I especially loved the community concert as it brought in such a diverse audience in a very welcoming space.
