Hose Uncoupling Ceremony to be Held for Opening Fire Station 9 Replacement


Residents are invited to a hose uncoupling ceremony to mark the grand opening of the new Forsyth County Fire Department Fire Station 9 (8420 McBride Ln.), officially replacing the previous facility located on Browns Bridge Road.


The ceremony will take place at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Sept. 12.

Forsyth County Voter Registrations & Elections is seeking civic-minded citizens from all backgrounds (age 16+) to serve as poll workers for the upcoming General Election and Special Elections in November.

Forsyth County Road Projects Awarded $120 Million in State Funds


Forsyth County has received $120 million in state funds as part of a $1.5 billion infrastructure investment recently announced by Gov. Brian Kemp. Members of the County’s State delegation presented a check commemorating the investment during the Thursday, Aug. 1, Forsyth County Board of Commissioners meeting.   

SR 400/369 (Exit 18) Overpass Update


To examine potential abnormal settlement on the westside approach to the Exit 18 overpass, officials involved with the SR 369 widening project temporarily closed the Phase 1 (northern) side of the overpass to traffic and have begun a 60-90 day monitoring period to determine any needed enhancements.

Parks & Recreation Installing Murals at Central Park, Big Creek Greenway


To enhance the visual appeal of Forsyth County facilities, the Forsyth County Department of Parks & Recreation applied for a grant earlier this year from the Forsyth County Arts Alliance to install three murals, one at Central Park and two along the Big Creek Greenway.    


Parks & Recreation accepted a grant of $4,000 from the Forsyth County Arts Alliance, which will cover a portion of the mural installations.

Pet Resource Center to Host Family Fun Day with Rabies Vaccination, Microchipping Clinic


The Forsyth County Pet Resource Center is wrapping up its 10th annual Summer of Love adoption promotion with a family fun day and adoption event from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 14, at the Pet Resource Center (4065 County Way). 


Residents are invited to attend with their own furry family members for free rabies vaccinations and microchipping while supplies last.
