AUGUST  2024

Making Highgate a Better Place to Live and Work

Dartmouth Park Healthy Neighbourhood traffic proposals - public meeting arranged

Tuesday 3rd September 7.00 pm at La Sainte Union School Highgate Road NW5 1RP

A public information drop-in session at the Highgate Society

It has been a busy time for our campaign on the Dartmouth Park traffic proposals that we see as having a huge effect right across the Highgate area. It has been critical to raise awareness and in the six weeks since Camden and Islington Councils launched their proposals, with your help we have:

- made two formal requests with other civic organisations to extend the co-design period to allow proper engagement (both turned down),

- set up the DPHNJointaction.com website as a collaboration hub with other local organisations,

- run a public information afternoon and printed A1 size maps of the proposals so that many people from right across the area could meaningfully discuss the proposals,

– organised a petition signed by 2,968 people as of 21 August calling for an extension to the co-design period, which we presented at Camden Town Hall , and

-  submitted the Society’s formal response that you can see here (look at the selection of quotes at the back).

Public meeting announcement

Thank you to everyone who has helped. What is next? To allow more people to have their say, we have organised a public meeting. At least three councillors are attending, and other councillors and Camden and Islington Council officials are invited. The public meeting will be at La Sainte Union School on Highgate Road on Tuesday 3rd September from 7.00 to 8.30 pm. Doors open at 6.30 pm for a prompt start at 7.00. If you would like to come, please book here. All residents and businesses are welcome, but we have a limit of 225 people so please book quickly.  If you find no available tickets remain or prefer to join via Zoom (audio only), please select that option when booking.

Meeting format: After short statements from Councillors and the Council teams, the meeting will be open to hear your statements and questions. Speakers will be limited to two minutes. Councillors will then be offered an opportunity to make closing remarks before the meeting finishes. Priority will be given to those in the hall who wish to speak on behalf of a residents’ association or other civic group. Please email us at contact@dphnjointaction.com to tell us if you wish to speak and which group you represent. The meeting will be recorded and photographs may be taken.

There is no charge for attendance, but we will be holding a collection on the evening to cover our costs.
