SEPTEMBER NEWSLETTER
2024 SUMMER PROGRAMS:
HUMAN CONNECTION!
First-year group at Square Ledge. A day at Square Ledge is always a good day!

Reflection from first year Program Manager, Owen McAndrew

Reflecting on my first summer with Kismet, I've felt overwhelmed by gratitude for everyone who helped to make it feel so special. Over seven program weeks, students and staff alike had the chance to grow through success and setbacks, by taking risks in an environment full of love and support. This immersive experience lends itself to a full range of emotions, and as summer turns a corner, I am only beginning to reach an equilibrium. Thank you to our supporters who help make this experience possible, and especially to our students who bravely leave their comfort zone to wholeheartedly embrace this process.

Thank you to all of our BBQ hosts over the 2024 summer - Tom & Tina Boydston; Ted & Sharon Wroblewski; Paul, Lisa, and River McCoy; Rachel, Liz, Asa, and Wilder Freierman; and Joe, Ardis, and Caroline Yahna.

Reflection from Summer House Staff and Program and Office Manager, Zoe Eisenberg

In the second year as a house staff, something that stood out was seeing the growth that happens between the students in each group and their collective confidence from one year to the next. It’s something I find hard to put into words, but it is a palpable and infectious feeling that I can best describe as a mix of joy and tenacity. This summer was especially magical as I was able to spend time with every group and witness how each week of students has this incredible power to support one another and create a space where they can face challenges, grow, and connect in a way that feels authentic to them.
