SCPTSA General Membership Meeting — SEPTEMBER 10, 7PM

Join Seattle Council PTSA on Zoom for our first General Membership Meeting of the school year. All are welcome! Somali, Spanish, and ASL interpretation will be provided. Please email secretary@scptsa.org with additional accommodation / interpretation requests. 

Consent agenda - this will include several business items to align our standing rules with WSPTA by-laws, pass our budget for the year, information about Reflections.  For more information on some of the necessary changes to align with by-laws, not only for SCPTSA but also for your PTAs click here https://www.wastatepta.org/wp-content/uploads/2024/06/Adopted-Bylaws-Amendments-Effective-July-1-2024.pdf.  We use consent agendas to allow us to vote on multiple items at once; however, any member may pull an item from the consent agenda for further discussion. We do not have unlimited time, and we are trying to move through business to get to the guest presenters for the evening and allow time for questions.  

Guest Presenters - we have invited SPS staff to share information and to take questions on Well Resourced Schools. While voting at this meeting is restricted to one vote per PTA, we are creating space for questions from attendees. While we are trying to allocate as much time for questions as we can, we expect that there may be more questions than can be answered in this meeting.  We will be collecting questions to submit after the meeting, and also, working to create more opportunities for engagement.  

We urge each local Seattle PTA to consider sending at least one delegate to this meeting. Each local PTA gets 1 vote. PTA Presidents are authorized to vote on behalf of their PTA, or they may send a designated delegate. Presidents—if you will be delegating someone to vote, please email president@scptsa.org and secretary@scptsa.org with the name of your PTA, your name, and the name of the person who you are delegating to vote on your behalf.

SPS School Board Regular Meeting    
Meeting agendas and relevant materials are posted at least 24 hours in advance of the scheduled meeting. Board meetings are live streamed on SPSTV. The School Board Office will take sign-ups for public testimony list starting at 8am on the Monday before regular Board meetings.
