Survey and form tools are a marketing dream!

I love forms and surveys. They are such great tools for gathering customer insight, building a lead generation system online or creating thought-leadership content.

Creating a great sign-up form for your website or blog, or quick survey to check how your customers feel about you can be done quickly and more affordably than ever before.

People underestimate the value that a well designed form can give your customer. Pre-qualifing questions can all be done before an appointment or meeting, which saves your customer time and gives you information to make your meeting more productive. Product testing and insights can be done by polling online in a fraction of the time and cost. Social media  tools like Facebook and LinkedIn gives you access to a large audience which can be segmented to give you really excellent data.

At the end of the day, to make better marketing decisions, you need to test assumptions and hunches. If there was one thing in my marketing kit bag that I can’t do without it is my form tools. Here are my favorite survey and forms.

Survey and Form tools we love

Wufoo by far and away is an awesome tool for surveys and reporting. It integrates with mailchimp which recently acquired it and is very easy to use. It has a free version and paid versions also work well with paypal. If you were a small business that wanted to offer a paid service online like consulting, training sessions or even ordering goods you could use a wufoo form on your site. I find it better than survey monkey because of the branding and reporting functions. You can watch me show you how to use this form go here.

Jotform is a really nice quick form tool that can be added to your web, blog or even to your email as a url. Called an easy form builder it really is that. For use in wordpress or in other content management systems.

Hellobar is a nice form that is added to your website as a banner. This tool can be great as header as seen on my website offering the visitor a download of a marketing plan. Basically you can use it to link to any other page or download and the idea is to get the visitors attention and take action. It can take your most important content and direct your target audience’s attention to it. A great free little promotional tool.

Facebook has a great survey tool in its apps. If you need help setting up your facebook page as a lead generation tool book in a social media session with Dan today.

Padiact is an awesome tool that allows you to set up a lead capture form on your website based around your customer actions. ie People who visit a number of pages on my site get a special offer or sign up. Love this tool for small business.

Clickdesk is one of many online chat functions for your website. I have included it here because to can add a chat form to your website and chat in real time to visitors. I connect it to my skype id and then am notified if someone wants to chat with me while on my website. Really nice customer service feature and great for nurturing leads. My prediction is you will see a lot more of these live chat tools on website in the next 12 months. Others include, liveperson,  zendesk, boldchat and zazachat.com.

Bannersnack is a really nice tool that allows you to create a banner for your website and link to a form. This is handy if you want to send customers to a long page survey or landing page with a form. This company also has a lot of nice software including photosnack for nice photo libraries, podsnack for compiling your own web audio players, tubesnack for customer web video players, quizsnack another survey tool and flipsnack to create a flip pdf booklet and slidesnack for sharing presentations online.
