Ed Jones's story
Ed joined the Army in 1942. He served with 29th Infantry Battalion in the Middle East and Papua’s Milne Bay in World War II. Listen to Ed’s story.

50 years since Operation Babylift
In April 1975, as the North Vietnamese Army advanced south and conditions deteriorated, Detachment S (for Saigon) flew a special humanitarian operation. RAAF crew flew 2 Babylift operations out of Saigon (now Ho Chi Minh City) to Bangkok. The orphaned babies were transferred to a Qantas 747 to meet their adoptive families in Australia.
