The Oregon Conference has recently seen five pastors affirmed through ordination to gospel ministry. After years of experience, including meeting specific leadership benchmarks, receiving an assessment of their leaders, and going through a personal review with Conference leaders, a pastor’s journey culminates with ordination or commissioning. It is an important moment in a pastor’s journey when their ministry is recognized, celebrated, affirmed, and supported by their local leaders, congregations, and Oregon Conference leadership. Memorial Service for Carol Henry
We invite you to join us as we celebrate and remember the life of Carol Henry on Sunday, March 9 at 3:00 PM at the Lents Activity Center (LAC). Carol was a blessing to her family, her church, and many she interacted with. This gathering will be an opportunity to share memories, offer support to her husband Vern and her family, and to honor her legacy. Following the memorial, we welcome you to stay for a potato bar as we continue to share in fellowship and remembrance. All who knew and loved Carol are welcome. Memorial Service for Joyce Hill
Joyce Wade Hill passed away December 9, 2024. During her lifetime she blessed many with her gift of music, playing the piano and organ in many churches. There will be a memorial service for Joyce Wade Hill on March 16 at 2:00 PM at the Woodburn Community Adventist Church located at 1253 5th Street, Woodburn, Oregon.
Elders Training
All pastors and elders are encouraged to attend one of two Elders Training events, March 16 at the Holden Convention Center in Gladstone, or April 6 at Roseburg Adventist Church. Each event will be held from 9:00 AM-5:00 PM.These in-person trainings will cover essential topics such as leading yourself well to prevent burnout, the heart of Christian leadership, God's call to eldership, a workshop on the foundational principles of effective preaching, and more. It's a day designed to equip you and your team for greater impact in ministry! Speakers will include Seth Pierce, Kessia Reyne Bennett, Erika Puni, John McVay, and Benjamin Lundquist.$20 per person cost covers food and supplies. Oregon Conference Women’s Ministry Training Day
