Share Your Promotions for Small Business Saturday!

Each month, a listing of local events is published in The Villager, the Beverly Area Planning Association publication delivered to residences in the Beverly/Morgan Park community free of charge.

The November Local Lineup will include information from local merchants for Small Business Saturday, the annual promotion that marks the unofficial start to the holiday shopping season. Always a busy day in the Beverly/Morgan Park commercial districts, the event takes place this year on Saturday, November 26.

Do you have a Small Business Saturday special, sale, or event you would like to promote? Tell us by Oct. 20, and we’ll submit it to the Villager for you!

Program Connects Black Female Entrepreneurs with Capital

Greenwood Archer Capital has partnered with The Association for Enterprise Opportunity (AEO) and Fluent to launch the Black Women Capital Access (BWCA) program to help change the way Black female entrepreneurs access capital.

As part of the BWCA program, 100 Black women-owned small businesses may be matched with a participating lender for an opportunity to gain access to capital. The program uses a new diagnostic tool called The Fluency Score that works like a FICO Score for early-stage businesses (in operation for two years or less). Small business owners will be assessed for capital access using their Fluency Score and will receive compensation for their time and effort. You can find out more about Fluent and the Fluency Score here: https://fluencyscore.com/.
