Access NFTS : Open to all

Access NFTS is a national outreach programme designed to discover, inform and inspire a new generation of creative talent.

The programme is run by the National Film and Television School (NFTS) and supported by Universal Pictures, who both share a mission to seek out home grown British talent and allow it to flourish. We want to work with the film, television and game makers of the future, whatever their background, from school leavers to adults looking for access to the industry.

We want to engage with those already interested in a career in the industry, as well as those not yet aware of the broad range available opportunities.

We want to work with groups traditionally under-represented in both Higher Education and the Film, TV and Games industry.

Twice a term the NFTS opens its doors to secondary education aged pupils (11-16 years old). The aim of this session is for young people to discover the NFTS, find out what happens at the school, have a tour of the site and meet some current students. Fresh Works

Young Creative Bucks Forum Street Art Summer Session
Young People were invited to join us at Wycombe Arts Centre for a day of Street Art with Dan Wilson from DeCreate.

The wall was an opportunity for everyone to contribute their creative ideas into a bigger communal artwork (after Dan had taught them some basic spray techniques).

We started with a wall of empty squares. The Young People were determined to do galaxy paintings to start with but moved onto stenciling and bokeh effect images.

Ollie (YP) challenged Dan to do a portrait of him in the middle.

We turned the remaining empty squares at the end of the session into frames as a subtle invitation to others to contribute or envision what they might add to the collection of voices.

If you know of any young people that would enjoy being part of the Young Creative Bucks Forum who are aged 14-19, who either have an interest in arts and culture and/or being able to have their say abouts what's available to them creatively in the county and how to develop their creative practice, talents and career prospects then please ask them to send an email to carmen@youngcreativebucks.org for more information.
Vache Baroque Liaison with Haddenham Junior School 2022

Art Coordinator – Cathy Duncan
We were so lucky to have made contact with Betty Makharinsky and the Vache Baroque through the Creative and Cultural Champions Programme.

A group of about 30 children had the most wonderful experiences from hearing up-close-and personal amazing opera singers who interpreted their mark making; to learning about Orpheus in the underworld; to designing and creating season-inspired willow lanterns.

We were invited to a child-friendly production of Orphée at The Vache, Chalfont St Giles, where the paper boats our children had made were in situ in HADES. We were lucky with the weather and the children had a magical time. Parents were so pleased to have been able to come with their children and amazed that we were able to arrange such an event.

We really look forward to welcoming Vache Baroque to school next year for a whole school experience of their ‘A HISTORY OF SOUND’ production; to continue working with Year 5 on their willow lanterns and to begin a new project with another chosen group of children.

We are so grateful for their time and efforts and are thrilled to be part of such an opportunity and incredibly excited to continue our liaison.
