The Latest from S/PA

Dear S/PA Community:

We kicked off the school year with six dynamic events including our student orientation, mentor training and in-person school breakfasts and lunches. In mid-October, I enjoyed lunch at St. Benedict's with my mentee, Matthew.

It is great to be back in-person, spending time together. And great to see so many other sponsors, partners, mentors, students and school administrators. I never get tired of hearing the buzz of students and mentors talking and connecting.

This fall, I welcome a number of new people to the S/PA team, Ray Beier to the Board, Sheila Casimir to the staff, and all of you talented partners and mentors. Your interest and dedication continues to inspire me.

We hope that you will enjoy the pictures of our early fall events and we will be getting back to you soon about upcoming events. As always, I am grateful for your commitment to our students and look forward to seeing you soon.

Connecting In-Person

Mentor/Student Events

Our students and mentors were thrilled to be back in-person enjoying each others company and, for our freshmen students and new mentors, meeting and getting to know one another for the first time. During the month of October we had a breakfast at Immaculate Conception High School, a lunch at St. Benedict's Preparatory School, a breakfast at Saint Vincent Academy, and a lunch at Hudson Catholic. All of our events were well attended. Thank you to all of our mentors for coming out to meet with your student.

Mentoring Network Oktoberfest Event

October 13, 2022

Our Mentoring Network was thrilled to be able to host its first in-person event on October 13 at the Zeppelin Hall Beer Garden in Jersey City. Returning and new mentors enjoyed learning more about one another and mentoring while sampling seasonal treats.
