Sermon Series Fall 2022“Shame and Grace” | This sermon series is a comparative look at the things that make us feel ashamed or trapped in feelings of guilt, as compared to grace which opens us up to peace, flourishing, healthy self worth, and allows us to acknowledge our own gifts, abilities, and imperfections. The ways we relate to ourselves and others impacts our health and community as the church, and also affects our ability to fully understand and thereby communicate the good news to others. The heartbeat of this sermon series is that we have been created with goodness, beauty, and dignity. God's Word reverberates with the restoration of self worth, our original goodness, and God's desire to call us away from guilt and shame which can keep us feeling stuck, trapped, and unworthy and homeward to God's embrace where we are met with grace and truth. |

| Generosity 2023FPCV Commitment Sunday is a time to pause and consider what each of us is called to give in the coming year. It is a tangible way to gauge our own hearts and to consciously decide what God is calling us to in 2023. More information will be coming to your email in the coming weeks. Please add November 13th to your calendar as our commitment Sunday. |

| FPOC Night without a bedThis October 17–23, we’re celebrating Family Promise Week in hundreds of communities across the country – wherever there’s a Family Promise Affiliate. Since 1988, more than one million children and parents have turned to Family Promise for assistance with homelessness prevention, shelter and housing, and other supports, and the need for our services continues to grow.
Join us during Family Promise Week for Night Without a Bed, a social media challenge that raises awareness and support for families battling homelessness. On October 22, sleep on a sofa, the floor, in your car – anywhere except your bed. Share photos on social media using the hashtag #nightwithoutabed2022 accompanied by a brief post describing your Night Without a Bed experience.
Whether on your own or with family or friends, it’s a great opportunity to show your support for families in need and help others understand the magnitude of this crisis that affects one in 19 children. | |
