Director of Marketing and Communications
Fund for the Arts is hiring

Reporting to and partnering with the Chief Development Officer, the Director of Marketing & Communications will provide leadership and communications expertise to strengthen and enhance marketing strategies and communications capacities for the organization’s overall vision. The Director of Marketing & Communications will continue to develop a coherent and consistent brand identity and cultivate relationships with media and other partners in alignment of the organization’s strategic initiatives of Generate Resources, Community Investment and Support. In addition, the Director of Marketing & Communications will work closely with a motivated and engaged leadership team

Audition Call for Youth Voiceover Content 
Deadline: October 17
Youth ages 8-11

The Fund for the Arts I Am An Artist. campaign seeks to empower every person to see themselves as an artist, to embrace the art that we create and consume every day, and to know that we belong in a robust artistic community, a City of Artists! This video will highlight the voices of children as they share their enthusiasm for making art and explore why it’s valuable to their self-expression and identity. We are seeking children with innate playfulness and vibrancy to record scripted voiceover content and to also have improvised conversations on the subject of art and what it means to them. Thoughtful and talkative, the ideal participant will be excited to engage and listen. Being able to follow directions and prompts is helpful. Joy for art is welcome!

South Arts: Micro Accessibility Grants
Deadline: May 15, 2023

The Southeast is home to some of the world’s more diverse and vibrant artistic communities. South Arts believes that the arts are for everyone. The arts enrich the lives of people of all abilities and backgrounds. In their commitment to amplifying the success of the Southeast’s arts ecology, South Arts offers micro-funding to supplement the efforts of arts organizations throughout our service area to make arts programs accessible to persons with disabilities.

South Arts believes that rural communities deserve great art, and can require specialized support to make that vision viable. Distributed on a first-come, first-serve basis, Express Grants support rural organizations and communities with expedited grants of up to $2,000.

South Arts: Creative Placemaking Leadership Summit

South Arts, in partnership with Creative Placemaking Communities, is bringing the 2022 Creative Placemaking Leadership Summit: South & Appalachia to Chapel Hill, North Carolina. The Summit is designed to facilitate a network of artists, civic and cultural leaders, educators, public officials, and more from around the South to work in unison to build new and stronger partnerships, projects, programs, and policies. The experiences created at the summit will inform, inspire and empower the voices of those in the community.

South Arts: Professional Development & Artistic Planning Grants
Deadline: Rolling 
Professional Development and Artistic Planning Grants are available to support up to $1,000 in professional development needs of Southern presenters, programmers, or curators, for strengthening program design or increasing organizational capacity. South Arts strongly believes professional development for presenters/programmers/curators is integral to success, including traveling to see new works and attending convenings. This grant program is open to film, visual arts, performing arts, traditional arts, literary arts, and multidisciplinary organizations.

CNPE School for Fundraising and Engagement 
Sessions run through December

CNPE started the school in March 2021 in collaboration with non­profit consulting firm Ashley|Rountree and Associates to fill a gap in the training for nonprofit fundraising professionals in Greater Louisville and Southern Indiana. The school, operating through an equity lens, aims to significantly improve the ability of our community’s nonprofit sector (staff, board members, and volunteers) to access needed funding through a full range of methods and skills.

Louisville Visual Art: Outdoor Sculpture

Louisville Visual Art (LVA) invites artists and artist teams residing in the United States to submit qualifications to propose an artwork for our Portland neighborhood location at 1538 Lytle Street in Louisville, Kentucky. This is an opportunity to create a monumental artwork integral to our extensive renovation of the building and engage with the architecture and/or grounds.

South Arts: 2023 Southern Prize and State Fellowships

The South Arts Southern Prize and State Fellowships acknowledge, support, and celebrate the highest quality work being created by visual artists in the American South. Nine state fellows (one per state in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Kentucky, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, and Tennessee) will be selected to receive an award of $5,000 and be included in a touring exhibition for summer of 2023.

MidwestNice Art: The Hazards
Deadline: November 15, 2022
The Hazards will be a Fall 2022 online juried exhibition hosted here. The theme, the hazards, focuses on the idea of hazards, taking risks, venturing forward, pitfalls and peril, with concern for chance. The exhibition will examine these ideas through a variety of mediums in art. Any mediums are welcome, including but not limited to photography, sculpture, painting, collage, digital design, video art, installation, ceramics, performance art…anything you can think of, include it!

2023 Bernheim Environmental Artist In Residence

The Environmental Artist in Residence program encourages visual artists to examine environmental issues and severity of the climate crisis to promote dialogue and positive change for the natural environment and world at large. Artists are invited to address environmental themes including (but not limited to) excess heat, drought, flooding, extreme weather events, food insecurity, displacement, environmental justice, and the loss of biodiversity. $2500 stipend.

Title: Presto Strings Instructors

This position is part-time, and includes approximately 60-90 minutes of weekly beginner strings instruction during the school year, along with basic administrative responsibilities to support the class and communicate with parents and school personnel. The Presto Strings Instructor is responsible for instructing weekly beginning Suzuki-influenced strings classes to 2nd-4th graders in an underserved elementary school. This includes working closely with the school to recruit and retain students and to provide a September info session. The instructor will also fit students for fractional-sized instruments owned by the LYO, manage inventory, supply reports to the Executive Director, submit instruments for repairs as needed, and lead at least 2 performances in the spring. The Presto Strings Instructor may also on occasion be requested to assist with regular LYO rehearsals or concerts, both behind the scenes or as a substitute instructor/conductor.
