BC Government Releases Information Bulletin about LOTR in advance of November Filing Deadline

The Province recently published an information bulletin about the Land Owner Transparency Registry on news.gov.bc.ca titled ‘Hidden BC land ownership getting harder as registry deadline approaches.’ A backgrounder with common filing questions asked by reporting bodies is also included.

Reminder: When PIDs Differ From Original LOTR Filing

Customers filing a change of interest holders, or correcting information contained in a previously filed transparency report, per s.17 of LOTA, are reminded to file a new transparency report if parcel identifiers (PIDs) differ from the original filing.

Filings to LOTR for September 2022

In September 2022, the Land Owner Transparency Registry (LOTR) received 12,185 transparency declarations related to registering an interest in land and 6,585 transparency reports from reporting bodies.

Since required filings to LOTR began on November 30, 2020, LOTR has received a total of 377,948 transparency declarations and 68,669 transparency reports.
