Good to Know: News to Know Now

Wednesday, October 5, 2022

This past Sunday we had our annual Blessing of Animals in honor of St. Francis. There were about 50 humans, and many more pets in attendance. There were mostly dogs and cats, but we were also honored to bless a spotted gecko named Lola. Click here to see a photo album from the event. If you took some pictures at the Blessing, send them to us.

“The people of Pumpkin Town are busy preparing for their annual Halloween celebration at the Recreation Center. They’re set to arrive on the scene in their best Halloween fashion in anticipation of the annual ultra-competitive pumpkin carving challenge and giant pumpkin contest. The guests will kick off the party with spooky food while having a blast competing with fun Halloween party games. It is rumored that some guests may have shocking news to unveil while others have been reported to be acting as strange as ever. Let’s hope all goes as planned on this night in Pumpkin Town!”

Join us for an evening of fun, games, and mystery. This event is suitable for children, youth, and adults. Wear your Halloween costume. The cost to participate is $5, which includes the cost of your dinner. Proceeds will be given to support hurricane recovery through Episcopal Relief and Development. Email Jay LaNunziata by Friday, October 21, to reserve your spot at the Pumpkin Town Halloween Party!

Celebrations

Watch over your children, O Lord, as their days increase; bless and guide them wherever they may be. Strengthen them when they stand; comfort them when discouraged or sorrowful; raise them up if they fall; and in their hearts may your peace which passes understanding abide all the days of their life; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen. (For a Birthday, BCP p. 830)
