MTSS/CS CoP Series: Hold It All, Together—Session #1

In this year's Community of Practice, Ali Hearn, LCSW will lead a free four-part event series, highlighting aspects of supporting the social, emotional, behavioral, and mental health needs of students, staff and families.

There is no one "quick fix" in this work and no one person can do it alone. Ali will help us dig deep and explore how to "Hold it All, Together". In the spirit of learning and growing together, each session will also feature designated time for "fireside chat" style technical assistance with Ali. Upon registration, participants are encouraged to share goals and concerns to help guide the discussion.

Community Schools Fundamentals Conference 2022

The National Center for Community Schools at Children’s Aid presents the Community Schools Fundamentals Conference, a professional learning opportunity designed specifically for those new or relatively new to community schools. At the Fundamentals Conference, we'll share our lessons learned from over 25 years of implementation in New York City and nationwide capacity building. In addition to the option of attending a study visit to a Children’s Aid community school, participants will learn about the foundations and the “nuts and bolts” of the strategy,

Join us in New York City in October for this exciting opportunity to deepen your understanding of community schools and network with other school and community leaders from across the country!
We know that the individuals, schools, organizations, and communities you work with may need your special support during this time. As you prioritize your well-being and connecting with those in your network, please know that free crisis counseling is available from NY Project Hope. 💜

WHAT IS A COMMUNITY SCHOOL?

Using schools as hubs, community schools bring educators, families, and community partners together to offer a wide range of opportunities, supports, and services to students, as well as their families and communities.

Community schools:
  • Provide expanded learning opportunities that are motivating and engaging during the school day, after school, and in the summer
  • Offer integrated health and social supports and services
