Hi church family.

Over a hundred boxes were collected last Sunday for Operation Christmas Child. If you still have a box at home, you can bring it to church for the next 2 Sundays. All the boxes will be dropped off at the Samaritans Purse distribution centre after that. This is a great innitiative to let children in other countries - 'taste and see that the Lord is good' - through these gifts.
You can read more about the work of Operation Christmas Child and some of the moving testimonies with this link.

In a little over 7 weeks, we will have our annual South African Food Fest as part of the South African Carols 2022 weekend (Sat' en Sun' 26 & 27 November). This food fest is our biggest fundraiser for the church. You might remember from last year that we made the food available for free for all who attended the event (colour armbands were given to attendees.) In return, folks were invited to make a thank-you donation to the church at giving stations in the church foyer. In this way, we were able to collect more than $20k which went towards our church building fund. Besides the blessing of doing such a fundraiser, the food fest creates an amazing atmosphere and people always rave about the great food and the fellowship they can enjoy out in the open areas.
Please see the ad below with the names of our team leaders whom you can contact to get involved. We really need all hands on deck so we can share the load of putting on this amazing event. So please sign up to help!

We're also excited to host our first Christmas Market this year as another layer to this festive weekend. If you have something to sell, or know of friends who would be able to use this opportunity, please get in touch with Cecile (see the ad further on.) Tables are only $50 for the weekend and sellers will see foot traffic of about 1000 people over the two days.

Our church is one of the main sponsors helping to make possible the South African flavoured music production for the Carols weekend. Funds raised through the ticketing of the Carols show go towards a charity in South Africa (Helping Hand) that help feed some of the poorest of children as well as provide sanitary items to disadvantaged teenage girls. Find out more with these links below. Also, be sure to book your ticket as 1 of the 3 shows is just about sold out. We don't want anyone from our church to miss out.

The blessing of Church life is magnified when we get to spend time together in fellowship - beyond our Sunday services. On Sundays, we gather for corporate worship - as a big group of believers. Small groups are one of the ways in which folk enjoy sharing life together with a smaller group of fellow believers. We thank God for all the small groups we have in the church and the new ones that are constantly forming. Pictured below is the Ray Del Val small group enjoying time away together at Coral Bay! If you would like to join a small group or can help host a group, please get in touch with Roy Ray Del Val through our church office. Roy is our elder for Small Groups.
This Sunday we'll have a guest speaker, Pastor Neil Brandon, from Wilson Reformed Church, who'll be ministering the Word of God to us from Psalm 46 - God is my refuge.
Neil is a gifted communicator and I'm sure we'll all be encouraged by his ministry in this weekend's service.
An important date for us all to note is Reformation Sunday, which will take place on Sunday 30th Oct. It's important for us as Christians to keep our focus on celebrating The Reformation at the end of October as a Christian calendar date, filled with meaning and history, rather than the worldly focus on Halloween.
Every year our Reformed Churches in W.A. host a combined Reformation Service 4pm on the Sunday afternoon of 30 Oct. This year it will be hosted by Willeton Reformed Church at Rehoboth Christian College. Details further on in the Newsletter.
Dates to note:
Sun 9 Oct - Classis pulpit swap - Pastor Neil Brandon (Wilson Ref' Church)
Sun 16 Oct - Lord's Supper
Sun 30 Oct - Reformation Sunday
26-27 Nov - South African Carols, Food Fest and Christmas Market
