Hi Church Family,
The Apostle Paul uses this phrase when he writes to the church in Galatia. It goes something like this: My people! I want nothing more for you than for Christ to be formed in you. (Galatians 4:19) Friends, this is my prayer for us as a church right now. I want us to – all together – be with Jesus so that we become more like Jesus so that we are all doing things that Jesus did. I want us, GCN, to be known as a people who love our neighborhood really well as we embody the Good News of Jesus to the people right around us. Why? Because this is precisely what Jesus did and taught (Luke 10:25-37…but also all the gospels). I want us to be a people who hunger and thirst for righteousness (literally, thirst for “wrong things to be made right in our world and community”) to such a degree that we are obsessed with serving and loving those in our world. I pray that we are – even more so - committed to one another in love and committed to being in community together. (Romans 12:10)
This is my prayer, from your pastor. I long for Christ to be formed in us. I want many people to experience the life-changing transformation of Christ because of Christ working through GCN…because Christ has been formed in us.
Here is a simple prayer, even as you read this message: God, I want to be filled with your love. I want the Way of Jesus to be formed in my life. Would you fill me with your Spirit? I want to love people like Jesus. Amen.

- SIGN UP FOR A LIFE GROUP. On Sunday we mentioned the critical importance of doing life together in community if we want to walk in the Jesus Way. If you have not yet signed up for a Life Group, it’s not too late! Do it today! See below for sign up opportunities.
- COMMIT TODAY TO WORSHIP TOGETHER THIS SUNDAY MORNING AT 10:30AM. I am convinced that being all together on Sunday mornings is so critical for our church these days. It’s how we learn to love one another, to pray for one another, to worship God alongside one another, and to seek to follow Jesus together. We need this. We need each other. We need to seek Jesus together. By the way, this Sunday is the perfect Sunday to invite someone to come with you.

CRISIS CARE KITS & HURRICANE RELIEF
This Sunday through November 6, we will continue to collect Crisis Care Kit donations or completed kits. Pick-up a zip-lock bag on Sunday with a list of products or donate through CCB ( https://gcn.ccbchurch.com/goto/login) or Txt2Give (text "give" to 833-505-8444) and designate your gift "Crisis Care Kits". We will also be accepting donations on Sunday morning through the offering plates. Mark your gift "Crisis Care Kits".

SHOE COLLECTION
This Sunday is the last day of the shoe collection— any condition, any size. The shoe drive will benefit vulnerable populations in Uganda. For more information, visit rukundointernational.org/shoe-collection. You can drop off shoes at the donation kiosk.

YOUTH GROUP THIS SUNDAY

TEEN HANGOUTS COMING
All GCN teens are invited to hangouts next weekend:
- Middle School HANGOUT for 6th-8th graders on Friday, Oct. 14.
- High School HANGOUT for 9th-12th graders on Saturday, Oct. 15.
Both hangouts will take place from 6-7:30pm. We'll have dinner and enjoy an evening together at the Iglesias home (20404 Rainbowview Terrace, Montgomery Village, MD 20886).

Here's the schedule for Sunday Kids Ministry:
- KIDS QUIZZING: All 2nd-5th grade children will be in Room B2 at 9am.
- KIDS ON THE MOVE: All K-5th grade children are invited to the Life Center during the 10:30 Worship Service.
- PRESCHOOL: All preschool children are invited to room 110/111 during the 10:30 Worship Service.
- NURSERY: Nursery children are invited to stay in room 109 during the 10:30 Worship Service.
