Happy October!
How were your expectations challenged in September? With six planets retrograde, our attachment towards outcomes was most likely put into question in a big way. Maybe some situations turned out better than expected, and perhaps significant frustrations arose in the unfoldment in other areas of life. Either way, our attachment to expectations was where a spotlight was shown on our growth. From this revealment, an opportunity to mend any broken pieces, as well as more shake-ups, will be taking place this month. Will it be a trick or treat, you might be asking? So much will depend on your ability to see the bigger picture of things and your perspective and attachment to specific outcomes. The more you can find ease and flow, the more treats you'll receive versus the resistance of needing the comfort of things going your way.
Some of the treats for us all will be the start of the month, with Mercury going direct in Virgo on October 2nd. Even though we'll be in its shadow period for a couple more weeks, the clarity, creativity, and new focus will return, so take a deep breath and let your shoulders relax away from your ears. The concern for brain fog should be coming to an end quickly.
The annual retrograde of Pluto ends on October 8th, followed by the end of Saturn's retrograde on October 23rd. You'll feel momentum forming again after weeks and months of feeling stalled and stagnant. Lessons needed to surface and be seen and integrated before moving forward into the next eclipse season, which begins October 25th.
Before we look at the eclipse season, we have a Full Moon in Aries on October 9th. The energy of this moon phase will be igniting the desires of our hearts to those willing to take leadership to align with what they seek. Utilize the power of this full moon to heal and release the patterns you've noticed that contribute to the distance you create between you and others that were put into place to protect you but no longer draw you closer to your desires. You can do a ritual or ceremony with its energy by writing down what you would like to let go of, lighting a candle, and burning the paper. Follow it up by writing down what you want to call in and burn and release it into the fire.
October will be a month of refining relationships on all levels with expansion, letting go, and deep healing taking place if you can release your attachment to how relationships should look and ensure the relationship with yourself is included in that healing.
On October 23th, the sun enters Scorpio taking us into Scorpio season. Peeling back the layers to get to the heart of any issues will be where nature supports you if you are ready and willing to take a look behind what you've been storing under rugs. The fear will dissipate, and spirit will organize opportunities for you to lift the veil from over your eyes to see things more clearly. It may initially feel like a trick but lean into it and seek the treat waiting for you to find it where it's hiding in the shadows.
The new moon in Scorpio on October 25th officially marks the Fall Eclipse Season, as this new moon will also be a solar eclipse. Don't be shocked if this feels like an intense time. Aspects are taking place to surprise you to support your highest good. This is where your practice with what you are attached to will come in handy. If you are willing to become aware of what outcome you are linking to and why then adjust as needed; then, you'll find more ease than difficulty during this time. Observe why you might be gripping onto specific outcomes. Is it because it would make you more comfortable, or if you are connecting to the part of you that knows you will be able to navigate anything that comes your way because you trust yourself - not external circumstances?
On October 28th Jupiter will retrograde its way back into Pisces until December 20th. This is a 12-year journey it takes so that it won't be back in Pisces until 2033. Opening your heart to its mysticism, spiritual awakenings, and creative pursuits will inspire dreamy and magical opportunities. It's a time to be guided with your heart if you are willing to let some of your walls down that keep your heart from fully expressing itself.
The month will end not just with Halloween, the thinning of the veil between worlds, but also with Mars going retrograde on October 30th. Mars rules our physical energy, so feeling exhausted, you shouldn't be surprised if it taps you on the shoulder. Use it as a time to reflect, refine, and rest.
To assist you with all the tricks and treats this month, our stone of the month is Labradorite.
