Opportunity for Games Industry to engage with the next generation of games designers!
Taking place at the University of Bristol on 2 and 3 November, GamesJam attracts up to 100 talented University of Bristol Computer Science undergraduates. The students will take part in a games design challenge which will be judged by a panel of design experts.
Not only will this competition showcase the very best talent, but it will also provide companies in the games design industry the opportunity to engage with the future generation of designers.

Bristol Technology Festival, 10-14th October 2022
The Bristol Tech Festival (BTF) is finally here! Next week over 70 events will take place across the city of Bristol, bringing the best in tech together to share knowledge and build connections.
You can see the full scheudule and sign up for a wide variety of mostly free talks, workshops, and panels here. The festival will have a different theme for each day: Purpose, Protect, People, Play and Pioneer - these themes will span the depth and breadth of what Bristol’s tech and digital cluster has to offer, encompassing everything from Green Tech companies innovatively tackling the climate crisis, to smart AI solutions to truly demonstrate the vibrancy of our sector.

Games Developer Conference (GDC) – San Francisco, March 20-24 2023 – supporting attendance from the West of England
MyWorld, in partnership with the Department for International Trade (DIT) and Invest Bristol & Bath, is seeking to connect with games businesses in the West of England who have an interest in attending GDC.
GDC is the games industry's premier professional event, championing game developers and the advancement of their craft. It brings the games development community together to exchange ideas, solve problems, and shape the future of the industry across five days of education, inspiration and networking.
We will be co-hosting an event on 13th October 0930 > 1030 at the Pervasive Media Studio in order to highlight DIT support for businesses seeking to expand internationally:
- In the US, with DIT in San Francisco, and UKIE, promoting UK business development around the conference
- In the UK, an opportunity for support with funding the DIT Internationalisation Fund (up to £9k per SME business subject to application criteria)
Attending from the Department for International Trade will be:
- Cindy Fabian – DIT San Francisco
- Rosamund O’Neill – DIT Los Angeles
- Lara Purser – DIT Houston
In addition, Ameeta Virk from DIT UK will detail the criteria for application to the Internationalisation Fund.
As well as promoting the opportunities at GDC the DIT USA team will also provide information on their activities around SxSW for prospective attendees.
NB: One-to-one meeting slots are available after the event.
Our intention is to generate a cohort of West of England businesses attending key US trade events, able to generate new business and bring back market intelligence on industry trends and opportunities to feed into future plans for investment by MyWorld.
