Oikos Church Camp

The Oikos SDA Church had an awesome Family and Friends Camp at Mt Hutt Retreat over the weekend of 23-25 September 2022. Our Family Camp was attended by 77 church members and their friends.

The theme for the weekend was “It’s All About Jesus” and there was an amazing time of worship and fellowship on top of the spirit-filled fellowship over various fun activities for the kids, youth and adults.

Pr. Mike Sikuri, (SPD Secretary) and Mr George Kwong (TPUM Health Director) blessed the gathering with a couple of presentations on Health and Spiritual Families.

With amazing feedback around how we connected with each other, the fun and socialisation part of the camp and yes, -the food! We can’t wait for our next camp.

"But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you." (Matthew 6:33)

- Pr. Mebzar Quinto, Minister of Christchurch Oikos SDA Church

Volunteering for Big Camp

Are you planning on attending SNZ Big Camp in January, and would like to be part of the team making it happen? As we are likely to get a higher number of visitors this year with John Bradshaw as our speaker, we will be needing a larger team of greeters in the Big Tent. We will also have a Chaplaincy Team who will make themselves available around Camp for prayer, encouragement,  chats, or just to give directions to a building. If you would like to express interest in volunteering at Big Camp for either of these teams, or in any other way, please contact Yvanna at yvannaboulton@adventist.org.nz or 03 365 1020.

Spirit of Prophecy & Adventist Heritage Sabbath

Sabbath, 15 October
The Seventh-day Adventist Church was born after the Great Disappointment of October 22, 1844. On that day, we remember our roots and the heritage that the pioneers of the movement we belong to left us.

This day is a time to draw closer to Jesus and connect with our spiritual roots. Churches also use this day as an opportunity to see how God has led in the past and apply in their lives the lessons learned. It is also an opportunity to fellowship together.

Ellen White and Contemporary Adventism

6 November | ONLINE
Seventh-day Adventists have a rich heritage of visionary pioneering people. Ellen White, one of the Church's founders, had a spiritual gift—being a special messenger for God. She wrote many books, letters and spiritual reflections that have been preserved for our benefit today. How do we make the best use of these writings now? The international and scholarly speakers at this symposium will answer this question from many angles that will enrich our understanding and application. Click here for more information.
