Awakening - Partnering - Transforming - Reviving - Flourishing
We praise the Lord that Jesus continues to be at work through West Morris Church. Every day, in the church building, and beyond, Jesus is using the people of West Morris to awaken, partner, transform, revive and flourish. On Sunday, I gave a day-by-day snapshot of what that looked like with Project Lydia, our young adults, book club, apprentice groups, partnerships with local business owners, other churches, and George Washington high school students. And that says nothing of what you have been at work doing in the places you live, work, play and study!
In Ephesians 4, we read how God has equipped each person - male and female alike - with gifts to partner with God to bring about the Kingdom. Our Sunday worship gatherings are times of celebration, encouragement and equipping, so that we're ready for Kingdom work on Mondays through Saturdays! And, we are always excited to welcome new family members among us on Sundays as you invite family, friends, neighbors and colleagues.

In addition to all that, THIS Sunday (10/9) is our monthly Second Sunday Supper gathering. Bring something to share for our potluck lunch immediately following the service. Even if you can't bring anything, you are welcome and invited to join us!
This Sunday will be our final Sunday in the "Women of the Word" series, where we've been learning about and from faithful and vibrant Women of Faith from Scripture. So far we've talked about Priscilla, Sheerah, Lois and Eunice. I wonder who will be featured this Sunday??!!
On Sunday, October 16 we will welcome our sisters and brothers from the partner congregations that call West Morris home, with a special Joint Worship Service at 10:45 AM. We will also have a wonderful lunch following that service that you won't want to miss. You can contribute to the Joint Service lunch by bringing drinks, desserts and/or salads. (Other churches will be providing the remainder of the meal.)
On Sunday, October 23 we look forward to a special service of Prayer & Testimony, and on Sunday, October 30 we will begin a new series called, "What does Jesus Say?" as we focus on bringing our worldview in alignment with Jesus'!

We had an amazing turnout for the Photo Directory. Thank you to everyone who made the effort to sign up and show up to get your photo taken. Thanks to those who offered rides so that no one was left out.
The bad news is that we ran out of time slots for everyone to get photographed, but the good news is that we have one more photo day on Monday, October 24 from 2-8:30 PM. So, if you missed out on Round One, there's still time! Remember that everyone who gets their photo taken receives a free 8x10 and photo directory. The remaining spots are filling up, so sign up today.

On-Going Opportunities
Faith & Finances Facilitator Training - Would you be interested in becoming a certified Faith & Finances Facilitator to work one-on-one with individuals in the area of their finances? We have grant funds to train several facilitators. The training is online and self-paced, and no cost to you. Learn more about the training at chalmers.org/training/faith-finances/. We've heard from several of you that you miss Sunday School on Sunday mornings. Well, there's good and bad news about that.
The good news is that we have Sunday School - you're invited to join in, and those who attend LOVE it!
The bad news? Only that you're missing out if you don't join us!
Several other things also happen on Sunday morning at West Morris - check out the morning schedule:
9:30-10:15 AM - throughout the Church
- Free breakfast & coffee in New Day Cafe (starting about 9:15 so grab it on your way to these other gatherings:)
- Discovery Bible Study in lower level - study the scripture passage that will be preached on during our main service. Everyone welcome (and the elevator is available for use).
- New Day Students on 2nd floor - youth in grades 7-12 are invited to an in-depth discipleship gathering in the new youth room on the 2nd floor.
- Prayer & Anointing in sanctuary - join Geri and Sharon to receive prayer at the back of the sanctuary before the service.
- Prayer Wall & Prayer Stations in sanctuary - have you spent time at our prayer walls or prayer stations? Engage the many prayer opportunities located around the sanctuary, share your own prayer requests, and pray for others.
10:30 AM - Worship in the sanctuary
- Communion - join us as we celebrate communion together on the first Sunday of each month. We welcome everyone who desires to follow Jesus at the table.
- Testimonies - where have you seen God at work in the last few weeks? Come ready to share your God-sightings every second Sunday of the month during our service.
12 PM - after Worship
- Second Sunday Supper - pitch-in lunch in the lower level immediately following Sunday worship on the second Sunday of every month. This is a great way to connect with others around a table - just like Jesus did!
