The race to be Mimico's first Pet Mayor is heating up, with 13 candidates! You can see many of our pet nominees for a campaign meet'n'greet where you will have a chance to get to know the pets (and their owners) to help make up your mind before voting opens.

Municipal Election - Ward 3
|

The City Council election campaign is underway and the election is soon approaching. Voters will decide on the next Toronto Mayor and, importantly for Mimico, the next Ward 3 councilor. The Ward 3 election promises to be an exciting and important race. We encourage everyone to get out and vote!
To hear from the Ward 3 candidates directly, three local community groups are organizing a virtual town hall.

Delays to the eviction of ML Ready Mix from its current location at 29 Judson Street continue after an emergency injunction was filed by the company on July 5th despite City Council motion to cease operation by June 30th. The MRA has issued multiple letters in the past months calling for action.
On September 28, 2022, the Ontario Superior Court of Justice judge published a ruling on the lease between the City of Toronto and ML Ready Mix at 29 Judson St. As part of the judgement:
· ML Ready Mix is required to vacate the premises no later than November 30, 2022
· There will be no further extensions of this timeline
· ML Ready Mix must disclose the progress of their construction at 541 Commissioners Rd. in writing every 21 days and continue to comply with all relevant legislation for the operation of their concrete batching at 29 Judson St.
· The lease terms obligate ML Ready Mix to pay double their rent during the period in which they are past the lease’s expiry
