Call for Papers: “Supporting College Students of Immigrant Origin: New Insights from Research, Policy, and Practice”

The volume will feature chapters across 3 themes: pre-college experiences of students of immigrant origin (e.g., cultural & social capital, college applications, family involvement, navigating documentation); students’ navigation of the college context (e.g., first-year transition, involvement, major selection, career development); & perspectives on transitions from college into next life phases (e.g., graduation, first jobs, graduate school & beyond). In exploring these topics, this volume seeks to bring together emerging conversations about the unique experiences of students of immigrant origin in higher education. We also aim to expand conversations about the institutional changes that could help colleges and universities foster success for these students. Submissions should be sent to Blake Silver by October 15, 2022. Questions? Contact Adrian Bitton.
