For our students in Haiti, fall has been filled with several unexpected changes and delays. We received word recently that the academic year is delayed once again due to the economic crisis in Haiti. Teachers in Haiti have been diligently preparing materials and awaiting the start of the school year. We are thankful to our supporters because we are able to continue paying our teachers year-round which is not common in Haiti. Often, teachers are only paid during the school year. We are able to support our staff because of our awesome supporters and plan to continue doing so!

Due to this news, student sponsorship packets have been delayed. We are unable to finalize our class roster prior to the school year as we often experience changes in enrollment during the first week of classes. In light of this, Grace & Glory team members are striving to complete as many sponsorship packets prior to the end of October so that we can send updates about your sponsored student as well as send biographical information to our new sponsors. Thank you for your patience during this time! If you have any questions regarding sponsorship, please do not hesitate to reach out.
As some of you may know, I was planning on traveling to Haiti this month. I have decided to postpone this trip due to steep inflation, soaring gas prices (at nearly $30 a gallon), and elevated crime rates in the capitol, which is whre I’d fly in to. Heeding the advice of our friends and colleagues in Haiti, it was decided that the trip would be postponed to a later date. To learn more about the ongoing crisis, check out this article.
