Lots going on, so a reminder lest you forget...!

Summary - further details below

ERRATUM:
Whoops!! Please note that tonight is a regular pub night at Wilby, not a Pizza Pub Night as advised earlier.

  • Friday, 7th October (this evening!) is Wilby Pub night
  • Saturday, 8th October, Ovarian Cancer Awareness Drop In at Wilby Coronation Hall. Local MP Dr Dan Poulter will be dropping in to the session, so an opportunity to hear from him about life in Westminster at the same time - probably not much going on there at the moment though I imagine...!!
  • Saturday, 8th October, Brundish Harvest Supper
  • I also hope to see you at the Brundish Pub Night, next Friday - please note the earlier food order deadline than previously advised - to assure you your choice we need orders no later than Monday please!!

On Sunday, 6th November, The Friends of St Lawrence's Brundish are inviting you to a musical evening in the church including a barbecue and fireworks. This will be a very special occasion featuring outstanding musicians; a little clip about some of them below - first playing for royal families and then popping in to perform for us at Brundish....

For tickets or more information contact Tim Gillingham timgillers1@gmail.com

Further details at the end of this newsletter. Don't miss a fantastic local evening out!

The Tim Kliphuis Trio and friends have been invited to join the Dutch royal couple on their state visit to the Swedish royals, and next Wednesday are playing for them in the famous Konserthuset, as a gift from Holland to Sweden!

Best wishes

Jubilee Leather Bookmarks

As part of the Platinum Jubilee celebrations, Brundish and Wilby jointly sponsored the purchase of some commemorative bookmarks. Although somewhat overshadowed by the sad death of Queen Elizabeth II during this, her jubilee year, these are nevertheless a smart memento of her extraordinary 70 years as our monarch.

The bookmarks were distributed along with October's printed newsletter, but many of you only get the newsletter by e-mail and may not therefore have received one. For Wilby residents the bookmarks will be available from the British Legion's Poppy Day collectors when they come around later this month. In Brundish most houses do receive the printed newsletter and should have also received a bookmark, but if you have missed out we will have some available at the pub night, or you can e-mail the newsletter about collecting one if you prefer.
