Greetings, North Junior High School Families!
 

It is hard to believe we have already completed our first month of the school year. By all measures, we have had a fantastic start to the year. Our students are displaying high engagement in their classrooms, doing a much better job following our “Away for the Day” cellphone policy, and exemplifying our schoolwide expectations of being Safe, Kind, and Responsible.
 

Looking forward to next week and the week after that, we will host parent/teacher conferences on Thursday, October 13^th and Tuesday, October 18^th. The conference format will be “arena style” conferences where all North teachers will be collocated in one central location within the building. All of your child’s teachers will conduct their conferences in the Main gymnasiums and cafeteria. This format will make it easy for our families to drop-in any time between 4:00pm – 7:00pm, either evening, and meet with as many or as few of their child’s teachers as desired by the family. We sincerely hope you will be able to join us on October 13^th or October 18^th for Fall conferences with your child’s teachers.

Updated Crisis Response Procedures for the 2022-2023 School Year

As always, the top priority of our school community—and a primary focus of the district’s strategic plan—is the safety and well-being of our students and staff. To foster that environment, we research and practice the best school safety protocols and work with local law enforcement as critical partners to seek every opportunity to ensure our students and staff are safe. To keep you informed, we would like to share the language we use and potential responses we employ in crisis situations. Please know that if a SHELTER IN PLACE or ACTIVE THREAT is initiated at our school, you will be informed and asked to await further updates and/or instructions. View Crisis Response Procedures Infographic. 

Picture Retake Day with Cahill Studios is on Thursday, October 13th!

If your child needs a retake (had their picture taken and needs a new one) please fill out the RETAKE FORM below or give Cahill Studios a notice no later than 48 hours before picture day. 

If your student missed the first picture day please let them know to get their picture taken on retake day.

How to Order?

All orders are placed after picture day.

1-2 weeks after retake day, every student who had a photo taken will be receiving a paper flyer from the school with information on how to order your students' images. If your student does not bring home their flyer within 1-2 weeks after picture day, contact Cahill Studios and they will be able to provide you with your students gallery!

Crisis Response Team

The mobile Crisis Response Team (CRT) provides an array of community-based mental health crisis services to children and adults experiencing a mental health crisis. The Crisis Response Team can travel to homes or community locations in the four-county area to help individuals in crisis cope with immediate stressors. The team can complete suicide assessments, safety planning, coping skills education and make appropriate referrals. They also offer follow up with stabilization services.
