Trunk-or-Treat!

What:  Trunk-or-Treat! Park your car in the COTS north parking lot, pop open the trunk and decorate it like crazy (not scary - it's for kids). Put on your own great costume and pass out candy to the kids in their great costumes! There's EVEN going to be a special guest at the end!    When: Sunday, Oct 23, 3:30 - 5:30p    Who:  EVERYONE at Church of the Saviour. COTS youth and adults host, and kids from COTS and the neighborhood stop by to get some goodies!    Why:  Kids love candy. Kids love to show off their costumes. We love to make kids happy with candy joy. We love to make kids feel great about their cool costumes. It's a home run! And it's a simple and FUN way to love the families in our community. We're providing a safe, fun, and interactive place for families to Trunk or Treat is a great way to meet families where they are!    How:  Come at 3:30p to set up your trunk and get your candy ready! Decorate as much or little as you like. The interweb is full of fun and easy ideas if you're looking for inspiration. The kids will be there at 4pm.

Do you like to help people?

Does the idea of someone engaging with God sound like a good thing to you? If so, you should consider joining the Acolyte Team for the people of our 11am Worship Service!

Acolytes help make worship services great. They carry in the Big Bible and cross, carry in and light the altar candles, assist with collecting the offering, and help serve Communion. Not all at once!  :)  We are looking for acolytes on Communion Sundays -
if you're interested, please click here!

For the month of October, COTS is focused on Small Groups (Grouptober) and this message from Micah 6:8 to BE Just, Kind, and Humble.
NOTE: Sunday morning small groups will be meeting at 9:30 during October! This is our opportunity to focus on being Christlike to our neighbors - to extend justice, kindness, and humility to all that we come in contact with. It's an election season campaign with a different message!

Thursday Nights Together

Thursday Nights Together is a meal and hang out followed by small groups and music groups. There are opportunities for the entire family - like EVERYONE. We will have an open meal (meaning come any time) for $3/person from 5:30-6:30. Then (EXCEPT for tonight) from 6:30-7:30 there will be music groups for kids, youth, and adults, small groups for kids, youth, and adults, and nursery care.

This week (and at the retreat) we made 22 scarves & 5 hats to be donated to those who need them! Click pic for more pics.

This Week - The Details

Sunday

What (Grades 6-8):  9:30-10:30a in Room 204 (over the COTS Café). Ever been amazed by something you've learned in science or noticed in nature?

What (Grades 9-12):  9:30-10:30a in Sr Youth Room 207 (over the parlor). What if we don't know all the answers? How does that impact how we feel about our faith?

What (Grades 8-12):  12:15-12:35p in Bell Room 223 (over the church office). Handbells - put several ringers together, and you can make some cool music. At COTS, it's a great way for US to connect with and honor God, AND it's a great way to help OTHERS connect with and honor God. Director Ginny Steiger wants to see what you think about taking the bell choir on the road. Anyone in the choir, or interested in learning bells, should come and share your ideas.

When:   Sunday, Oct 9, times as indicated.      Why:   So we can grow in our faith to act on our faith.    How:   Complete the COTS Kids & Youth Registration & Med Info form for this school year.
