October Meeting
2022 Ballot Measure Rundown
Tuesday, October 11
7:00 - 8:30 p.m.
(via Zoom)
Your 2022 Midterm Election ballots will arrive in your mailbox next week! Before you return it, you'll want to join neighbors this Tuesday for the LCA October Meeting, where we'll get a full rundown of the measures up for a vote this year from Anna Mathai of the League of Women Voters of Oakland.
Back by popular demand, the League of Women Voters of Oakland have volunteered to offer Longfellow neighbors a non-partisan, unbiased review of the arguments for and against the various measures on this year's ballot. Anna has promised to leave plenty of time for your questions!
Prefer reading through 400+ pages of voter guides? Hey, more power to you. But, if you're like the rest of us, we'll see you on Tuesday.

#ICYMI
The Value of Home Sharing Made Easy (and Free!)
Thanks to everyone who joined our September Meeting, where Greg Bailey and Luke Barnesmoore from Front Porch talked about how Longfellow neighbors can benefit from the Home Match program.
Home Match is a free service that connects people with extra room in their homes with individuals looking for an affordable living option. As we learned during the presentation, Home Match is more than just a screening service. Home Match actively matches home providers and home seekers for compatibility, and then provides ongoing support service to both home providers and tenants--all at no cost.
If you weren't able to join us in September and want to learn more about Home Match, download the digital flyer Greg shared with us and check-out the Home Match website. You can also contact Greg directly with your questions.

Extra! Extra!
Longfellow Featured in SF Chronicle
Through words, stats and photos, San Francisco Chronicle reporters Sarah Ravani, Dan Kopf and Yoshi James explored the rapid change of our neighborhood in last week's issue. Their story incorporates those of neighbors Carol Lee Tolbert, Erin La Ninfa, Lena Robinson and Scott Wintner, as well as voices from Longfellow's past and leaders guiding Oakland's future.
Read past the "click bait" headline for a thoughtful look at our neighborhood--and the neighbors, old and new, who make it so great.
