October 7th, 2022 Community Update

Debris Removal: After the Storm

Following Hurricane Ian, we are all working hard to clean up and get back to normal.  As part of the Federal FEMA Response and Recovery protocols, trash collection is separated into two categories: household trash and vegetative debris.

No construction materials, fences, processed wood or other materials will be collected under our FEMA program.  For those types of materials you can arrange a special collection by calling the Waste Connections customer service line at (727) 572-6800.

See full breakdown of the process and direction on how to ensure all debris will be removed HERE.

Testimonial from Participant of Phase 1 of the Beautification Program:
"The right-of-way beautification project is complete and looks great. It even motivated me to power wash the sidewalk and paint our mailbox! More importantly, it's effectively absorbing today's heavy rainfall (no run-off, no flooding). Thanks again to the contractors and folks at the City; everyone was great to work with."
