School Teacher Pro-D Module
After building stronger connections with BC High School Sports and visiting the 2022 High School Mtn. Bike Championships, Cycling BC wishes to help school teachers get kids on bikes in 2023.

To recognize previous learning and help school teachers confidently lead after-school cycling programs for either elementary or high-school students, Cycling BC offers innovative ways for teachers to demonstrate pedagogical competence and learn cycling-specific techniques and teaching curricula.

To learn more about starting a HopOn (elementary) or Youth Club at your school, please schedule a call, or email coaching@cyclingbc.net.  If you already understand which option is best for your goals, please select from the list below.

  • Track (Velodrome) Skills @ Burnaby (November 23 & 30, 5pm-9pm)
These modules help you practice teaching basic and intermediate club skills, pertinent to your preferred cycling sport. Aspects of the Cycling BC Learn2Ride and Race curriculum (in development) will be shared with participants to aid in their education experience.

CLUB-CERTIFIED MODULES
If you enjoyed your 2022 coaching experience and are preparing to take on additional responsibilities in 2023, you may need to achieve CLUB CERTIFIED status.

Coaches with a GREEN certificate can fulfill the head coach or team advisor role at an affiliated youth program in British Columbia and are ready to facilitate annual training and take a group of athletes to a regional competition.

There are 4 opportunities to take this module this autumn:

  • Cycling BC (Home Study - Apply by email)
  • Cycling Canada (Starting Nov 21)

Coach Management System
Cycling BC's new Coach Management System helps safeguard participants, showcase our sports leaders, and support positive sports experiences.

Cycling BC wishes to extend our gratitude to the Interpodia CCN Bikes developer team, Graham, Phil, and Phil, who helped us create an innovative registry over the past ten months.

Please take a moment to complete the following BEFORE December 1, 2022: Additional details about our SafeSport and Coach Excellence Policy and how the Coach Management System will be used next season will be shared in the coming weeks.
