The other night I was happily minding my own business when a former client emailed me. The subject line was "You're famous!" Through a series of exchanges, I soon learned that my magic carpet party story (and name) had been mentioned by the one and only Priya Parker during a big Eventbrite conference!

For those of you who have been following my work for a while know, I'm a HUGE Priya Parker / The Art of Gathering fan. (I even got to meet her and show her around Paris last spring.) But little did I know that my story of gathering friends to celebrate my unexpected purchase in Istanbul would make it into her repertoire of stories around gatherings. It was an excellent reminder that even something as simple as a carpet can be an excuse to gather people.

The other thing I love about this story is I never would have known that I was mentioned in a major conference talk had it not been for my client who happened to be tuning in. It was a reminder both that it's a small world, but also that things are happening that we can't always see (my reminder to KEEP GOING!).

Here's this week's inspiration!

Watch.

Catch the full Eventbrite Reconvene conference talk "The Art of Gathering: Overcoming Isolation Through Connection" with Priya Parker and acting U.S. Surgeon General Dr. Vivek Murthy. They discuss how event creators are uniquely positioned to rekindle connection when we need it most. (Skip ahead to ~10:45 min to hear the mention of my carpet + my name!)

Read.

This week on Instagram I shared one of my favorite MYP magic stories of Marjorie Fenestre (a food journalist turned fiction writer) and France Auda (an aspiring artist) who met in MYP. Unbeknownst to me, they connected and France ended up creating the cover art for Marjorie's book (which she self-published in record time). It was such a wonderful reminder of all the unexpected moments that can happen in MYP when you open your mind to possibility.

Listen.

I've already shared this episode, but given the fact that it's the last week to sign up for Mapping Your Path before I close the doors to the cohort, I thought it was a good idea to share the episode of Looks Like Work where I talk about the evolution of my own professional career and talk about Mapping Your Path.

Reflections

I've enjoyed creating doodles these days, and expanding the reflections with words I share on Instagram. Click the image for more.

LAST CALL: Join Mapping Your Path into 2023!

Mapping Your Path into 2023 officially kicked off on Friday, and yowza, I am EXCITED to see where this cohort goes! It's such an incredible group, and we're just getting started.

If you want to join, it's NOT TOO LATE! This is the last week to get in on the action before I officially close the doors. (I promise you won't regret it!) There are a handful of places left, and doors officially close later this week either way. Time is running out.

A few quick reminders:
  • You do NOT need to attend workshops live to get a ton out of the experience. They're all recorded and you'll feel like you're there.
  • You do NOT need to do it all. MYP is intentionally designed in a way where people don't have to do it all and can still have a truly transformational experience.
  • There's no such thing as behind in MYP. People have lives, deadlines, travel, etc. Even starting a few days into the experience is a good reminder it's never too late to start!
  • Cohorts are intimate. We connect as humans and get to know each other. (We have 3 months together, there's no rush.) I LOVE getting to know everyone in the group and supporting you any way I can. I also LOVE seeing group members connecting in unexpected ways—amazing things can happen (see book above!).
  • Investing in yourself can seem daunting, but you are WORTH IT. There's a 3-mo and 5-mo payment plan linked on the sales page to help make it more accessible. (MYP is already a much lower price point than most coaching programs.) It truly will feel like you have your own personal coach if you join and open yourself to the experience.
  • Sometimes MYP is about doing less and slowing down. Get past the idea that you have to do it all and be perfect at it. When you let go, you let more magic in! ANYTHING IS POSSIBLE!
  • This is meant to be FUN. If you're not having fun in MYP, you're doing it wrong ;)
Take me to Mapping Your Path!
I sign off today's newsletter with immense gratitude. Launch periods are always stressful and take a lot of mental and emotional space, and it's all worth it once we get going. Thank you for sticking with me.

I'm particularly grateful for everyone who has signed up, and those who have shared MYP with friends. I love planting seeds, and I definitely appreciate the help scattering them.

I'll be taking the next week or two off my newsletter to catch my breath and get to spend time with the new MYP community.

I'm also excited to head to Scotland later this week to experience the workshop of someone who joined MYP back in Feb 2021 (further proof you never know who you may meet and what may unfold in MYP!✨). I signed up back in July, and I'm so excited it's finally here! But more on that in the next edition...

With gratitude 💗
P.S. If you sign up for MYP you'll get access to the kick-off workshop replay immediately, however, access to the community is manual (aka if you sign up when I'm sleeping, you'll need to wait until I'm awake to let you in). Never fear, we'll get things sorted quickly!
