Welcome to the November health & wellbeing update for 2022!

We would like to begin by acknowledging the Traditional Owners of the land on which we meet at Central Bayside, the Bunurong people of the Kulin Nation, and pay our respects to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people past, present and emerging, especially acknowledging the wisdom of Elders.

Each month, we aim to share resources, programs, grants, professional learning opportunities and events to help maximise wellbeing in your service.

The Health Promotion Team at Central Bayside Community Health Services (CBCHS) are always available to provide tailored support to help your services build a whole of service approach to health and wellbeing for children, staff and families, using initiatives like the Achievement Program and more! If you would like free support to build a positive and healthy environment within your service, please get in touch with our team to get started!

Take care,
Kayla - Health Promotion Team at CBCHS

National Recycling Week | 7-13 November
Planet Ark's National Recycling Week gives us the opportunity to help improve our recycling-reusing-reducing knowledge and build better recycling habits. This year is all about Waste isn’t Waste until it’s Wasted!

There are a whole heap of free resources, tutorials and guides available on Planet Ark's website to help you learn
how to recycle right, reduce waste and contamination and engage with positive sustainable actions. Have a look at the resources and try them out at your service or at home.

If your service is doing great things around recycling and sustainable actions, let us know!

16 Days of Activism | 25 November - 10 December
In recognition of 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence, we wanted to share some books for children (and adults) that challenge traditional gender stereotypes.

We know these stereotypes can be harmful as they can impact the way children think and feel about themselves - so these books are a great way to support discussions and challenge these stereotypes. Check them out below!

For additional gender equity resources visit Level Playground’s website.
