What is the colour of competence? Do kings, gurus or experts know the way?
Especially in times like these, I would like to have a guide. Someone who knows. And in the end, I am thrown back on myself after all... I started taking cold showers for now.

By the way: chestnuts grow fast. «In the time it takes an ash tree to produce a baseball bat, a chestnut produces a chest of drawers.» My respect for trees grows with every line of Richard Powers’ «Overstory». I came across his wonderful, wide-branching collection of stories via an interview hosted by Ezra Klein. I often listen to Ezra’s podcast in the studio when quietly playing with brushes and pigments. Or on 26 November, when I take the train to Klosters for the finissage of that exhibition.
