Thanks so much to those who were able to attend as a Club Delegate and take part in the recent Special General Meeting wherein we unanimously passed the motion adopt the resolution of ASCCA’s updated Constitution.
As advised previously the primary reason for the need to change was to allow suitably qualified and / experienced people from outside the realm of member Clubs to put their hand up for nomination to the Board of Directors.
We’re getting to the pointy end of the Conference planning, with final arrangements expected to be settled this coming week. With only around four weeks to go till the big event, ticket sales are beginning to be made in earnest. The Conference is expected to attract over one hundred attendees and almost twenty Guest Speakers. It promises to be a day on your calendar marked “not to be missed”.
At the conclusion of the Conference, ASCCA Annual General Meeting will be held, as is the usual custom. There will be a separate Zoom registration required for attendance, this is needed to ensure we are constitutionally compliant in regards to any voting matters and records of attendance. Please keep an eye on your inboxes for more information on how to register and attend the AGM.
The ASCCA Team is very much looking forward to bringing together another outstanding days’ event – hope to see you there!
Warm regards,
Jenny

Scott's Accessibility Update
Windows 11 is here, and will be in an update folder near you soon. Find out how our Seniors can take advantage of these to make digital technology more accessible, no matter what their abilities are.
The new Windows 11 update is here and will be rolling out to our computers in the coming months. While there are some nice improvements generally, there are a number of great accessibility features which make the update worthwhile across vision, hearing and mobility-related disabilities.

Last month I wrote about investment schemes. This month it’s all about love!
As more and more people move online to find love, romance scams are a growing part of the scam landscape.
Romance scams generally begin through social media or dating apps.

You are all (hopefully) by now aware of the recent data breach suffered by Optus and its customers, both past and present.
There are so many reports, instruction emails and posts being sent to Optus customers and in the general domain that it can seem quite a daunting prospect to reign it all in and take adequate steps to protect yourself.
