Old Town News
A quick rundown of news in Old Town.
  • The new Old Town Association bylaws are officially adopted. See below about the next meeting where interim board members will be elected. This association is for ALL. Residents, merchants, and property owners within the Old Town area.
  • Crime & Security: There have been many good steps towards getting increased presence in Old Town. APD announced that they will have some of their officers do "paperwork" in Old Town to increase the visual presence.
    • Report all crimes to APD via a formal police report. You can file a report online. The more issues that are reported, the more APD will allocate resources to this area.
    • Join the safety whats app group (see below).
  • Luna & Luz has moved! You can find Tess at her new location @ 400 San Felipe, Suite 8. This space is adjacent to Blackstone, between Poco a poco patio, and Gloria Valencia jewelry.
  • Maps for Old Town: There are a few options for listing your business on printed maps that are distributed around Old Town.
    • New Old Town Map Listings: The "New Old Town Map" is doing another printing soon. If you want your business listed, sign up for a basic listing for $75 per year. Full disclosure, the editor of the newsletter is also the manager of this map.
    • Discovery Map: A franchise that does an annual sign-up. I believe there is still time to sign-up for the discovery map. For pricing contact Jeff.
    • Church Street Cafe Map: Church Street Cafe has a map where the listings are free. Marie lists all businesses in Old Town when the map is updated and reprinted.

Stay Informed! - Where to get info about Old Town.

We all want to know what is going on in Old Town and to stay in the loop. The following are the best methods to stay in the loop:
  • Old Town Albuquerque Newsletter (This newsletter): Sent out once a month and for special events or notices, this newsletter is the BEST source to get a summary overview of what has happened in Old Town the past month. If you know of anyone who wants to receive this newsletter, they can sign up for the Old Town newsletter here.
  • Crime & Security Safety What's App Group: Specifically created to notify Old Town people immediately of incidents related to crime and security issues. Message Pete Kasetas via What's App (505) 980-2323 and ask him to add you to the Old Town Notification list.
  • Old Town Merchant Outreach - Facebook Group: A great place to share information and have a chat with Old Town Merchants. This is a private group and you must request access. On Facebook, search for "Old Town Merchant Outreach - An Independent Group".
  • View the Official Events in Old Town page. If you want to submit an event in Old Town, you can do so here.
  • Talk to Your Neighbors: One way that we can become a better community is by chatting with our neighbors. There is nothing better than a good ol' chat with an Old Town neighbor :)
