Hi church family.

This Sunday is our final day for the collection of the Operation Christmas Child boxes. We will have all the boxes displayed up the front of the church and will pray over them during the service. Next week some team members will take them to the distribution centre from where they will be shipped overseas in the coming weeks. If you can't return your box this Sunday, you can still take them to the distribution warehouse direct.

One of the areas our church is yearning to grow and become more effective in is the area of outreach and evangelism. Matthew 28 is clear about the mandate Jesus gave to go and make disciples of all nations.

There are two areas you can get involved with re' outreach and evangelism.

The first is the ACL initiative to have 'The Gospel of John' delivered to houses all across Perth this Saturday. Our home is one of many drop points where people can pick up a box of these books to hand out, deliver in postboxes, and if God provides the opportunity, to have gospel conversations with people.
You can read more about this initiative here;
The Gospel of John campaign

There is still time to join the Gospel of John campaign if you haven’t already. Sign up at www.acl.org.au/volunteer and you’ll be able to join a local team.

Below are some photos from their recent N.T. campaign.
The 2nd way you can get involved in missions is to attend the 'Way of the Master' evangelism training course.

This course will run for 8 weeks starting the 6th October, Thursdays from 6:30 pm at Connolly Community Centre, 5 Glenelg Place, Connolly.
The course aims to equip people to better live out ‘The Great Commission' (Matthew 28:16-20). We highly encourage anyone with a heart for outreach & missions to attend this course. In this way, we can be better equipped to reach the lost for Christ. Please get in touch with Nico Botha (0407 445 230) or the church office if you want to attend or if you need more info.
Last weekend a bunch of our young people came together with hundreds of other young folks from across the state (30 participating churches) for the annual Sportfest event. It's an action-packed weekend of ministry and sports and making new friends. Those attending enjoyed over 35 sports and activities, and more than 30 participating churches. Christo Scheffer is planning to organise an even bigger group from our church to go along to next year's event.
This Sunday we conclude our series on the book of Malachi. If you think about it, these are the final words of God in the Old Testament. After Malachi, there were 400 years of "silence" as God did not speak any new revelation through his prophets. After the 400 years of "silence," the new testament period begins with Jesus earthly ministry.

These final words from the Old testament, Malachi 3:13-4:6, look ahead to the great and glorious The Day of the Lord where all things will be set right. It's an encouragement to all pilgrims who might lose heart along the way; showing us that God sees us, and He remembers his people, and He will one day right all wrongs. To this hope the church through the ages has always cried out; MARANATHA! ~ Come Lord Jesus!

'Whom have I in heaven but you?
And earth has nothing I desire besides you.
