About the Speakers
Dr. Balaji Rao's laboratory is engaged in research in two areas: 1) Study of molecular mechanisms underlying development of trophoblast cells in early human placenta, using stem cell based in vitro models 2) Design of stable, non-antibody, binding proteins and peptides – a molecular toolbox – to uniquely enable research in cell and developmental biology.
Crystal Cruz, M.S., received her Bachelor of Science in Biology from Stonybrook University (Stonybrook, NY) and a Master of Science in Immunology from New York University (New York, NY). While at NYU School of Medicine’s Cell Therapy Facility, she focused on GMP manufacturing of autologous Dendritic Cell Vaccines for melanoma patients in clinical trials. Later she was the technical consultant for the German-based company Miltenyi Biotec, where she helped customers with their cell culture applications in both research and the clinic. Currently at RoosterBio she facilitates the therapeutic potential for MSCs and EVs.
