National i-THRIVE Community of Practice Event:
Supporting Shared Decision Making and Personalised Care through Integrated Front Doors
Thursday 3rd November 2022
Due to popular demand, the National i-THRIVE team will be presenting on the hot topic of Integrated Front Doors at the next Community of Practice event.
In the ICS design framework (NHS, 2021), it is stated that Inregrated Front Doors are key to allow partners to reach their shared goals of:
- improving outcomes and tackling inequalities
- enhancing productivity and ensuring best use of resources
- strengthening local communities.
Integrated Front Doors will therefore support collaboration in order to achieve the vision set out in the NHS Long Term Plan.
This CoP event will be face-to-face in London on Thursday 3rd November, with details to be confirmed soon.

NEW i-THRIVE Implementation Story
The Reaching Out Service:
The Educational Pathway in Short Stay Primary and Secondary Schools
Fiona Wilson, Lead Occupational Therapist at Mindworks Surrey, describes how her work within The Educational Pathway of the Reaching Out service demonstrates the application of the THRIVE Framework for system change (Wolpert et al., 2019) in an educational context. The service aligns with the THRIVE Framework’s Getting Help needs based grouping. Furthermore it aligns with key principles of the THRIVE Framework; shared decision making, partnership working, outcomes informed.
Action Learning Set Facilitator Training Opportunity
This training course will teach the fundamental principles and theoretical underpinnings of Action Learning and includes an experiential element of practice. It aims to equip facilitators with the knowledge and skills to begin to practice as Action Learning Facilitators. Both action and reflection are essential for system learning and growth, particularly during periods of system challenge and change.
Participants will also have the opportunity to experience delivering an Action Learning Set to support service transformation, with appropriate supervision, to support consolidation of Action Learning Set delivery skills and reciprocal learning across transformation sites nationally.
Participants will attend 9x 3 hour sessions on alternate Thursday mornings, from January 2023.
The cost of this training will be £1250 for 27 hours of learning and experience of facilitating an Action Learning Set with supervision
