Get extra support with the Graduate Mentorship Program

The Graduate Mentorship Program (GMP) connects you with a faculty or postdoc mentor from within the Faculty of Science. It’s a great way to meet academics from other departments, expand your network, and get confidential support on the issues that matter most to you.

Visit the GMP website and fill out an application. The GMP is ongoing, so you can join at anytime!

Graduate Science Career Services: Alumni Career Talks

In the first two weeks of October, the Graduate Science Career Services team will be hosting “Alumni Career Talks” focused on Transitioning After Graduation and Careers in Government & Policy.

This is a rare opportunity for students to ask questions and seek advice from past McMaster graduates who have gone on to have highly successful and rewarding careers. Both events will take place virtually, date and registration details can be found below.

This one-day, virtual event organized by the Trant Team at the University of Windsor is an exciting opportunity to hear from and connect with international and nationally recognized industry companies such as Merck (Medicinal Chemistry), Gilead (Process Chemistry) and Schrodinger (Computational Chemistry).

Southern Ontario Organic Chemistry Industry-Academic Conference

New opportunity for Canadian students to build and launch their own satellites

CUBICS (CubeSats Initiative in Canada for STEM) is a new opportunity launched by the Canadian Space Agency. CUBICS allows post-secondary professors and students to develop projects that help advance scientific knowledge in areas such as climate change.

Selected teams will be given the unique opportunity to design their scientific instrument or experiment, or even launch their own miniature satellite called a CubeSat.

The deadline for proposals is Wednesday, November 16, 2022

Networking opportunity: McMaster Innovation Showcase 2022

Thursday, November 10th, 2022 - 8:15AM - 3:30PM

This fall, the McMaster Industry Liaison Office is presenting their annual Innovation Showcase.

This is an excellent opportunity to network with investors and industry professionals, and learn about different aspects of industry research and start-ups.

The poster competition is a chance to highlight your discoveries to judges, potential investors, and industry leaders!

Call for Student Representatives on the University Student Fees Committee

Interested students are invited to apply for a Student Representative role on the University Student Fees Committee. The role is a one-year term from September 2022 - June 2023 with an option to renew for a second term.

This is an opportunity to have your voice heard and advocate for yourself and the interests of your fellow students. Committee appointments also offer valuable communication and relationship management skills that can be used in a future career.

Applications must be received by Friday, October 14th at 4PM.
