Instead of adhering to a creed of what we believe, Unitarian Universalists have 8 Principles that guide how we intend to behave. These guide our personal and our social actions. This Sunday we will explore what it means to live guided by principles.

Next Week's Sermon
"Worth and Dignity of All"
Rev. Nancy Reid-Mckee
Sunday, October 9th, 10:25 am
Our first Principle states that we believe in the inherent worth and dignity of every person. How practical is this principle, and is it possible to live according to it? Do we really mean every person, or just people similar to us? How can we live into the full depth of this principle?

Postcard Writing Campaign
Sunday - October 2
Adams Hall - Following Worship Service
Please contact Connie S for more info
We are invited to help the UUA get out the vote among registered but infrequent Black voters in Georgia. On Sunday the NUUC Women's Group will have packets of colorful postcards, lists of voters, detailed, non-partisan script and stamps. You can pick up a packet, hand-write the cards and mail on October 10. Each volunteer can connect with 20 voters. Studies show this kind of personal connection works! A donation of $10 is requested to cover the cost of cards and postage.
Let's UU the Vote in the 2022 Midterm Election.

Northlake's Little Free Library!
We have installed a small library for the church and neighborhood. Please feel free to use this both for sharing and finding books.
If you are putting books in for sharing, we urge that you include a brief recommendation so others know why you think the book is worth reading (similar to the Staff Picks section in a book store).
This LFL is small, but if it seems popular we can make additions!
If you have any questions, feel free to reach out to Margaret Rogers for further information!

Welcome to our Interim Music Director,
Art Kuller!
We are excited and grateful to announce that Art Kuller has agreed to act as our Music Director during the interim, until a permanent person is found. Art has a long history as a musician, has been our Music Director in the past (until he retired) and has completed the UU Music Leaders Certification Program. Not only that, but his love for singing is transformative. He has a strong history in the hymns and songs that resonate through Unitarian Universalist buildings across the land. Please share an enthusiastic welcome with Art!

Choir practice is on Sundays from 12:45 - 2:15 pm, weekly. If you would like childcare during choir practice, please contact Margaret Rogers at DLRE@northlakeuu.org

Online Art Open Studio
Tuesdays, 6:30pm
Join us Tuesday evenings between 6:30 and 8 pm on zoom. This is an opportunity to set aside time for engaging with art and craft, whether you are a professional or drawing stick figures! Come find joy and soothe your spirit while gathering in community with others.
The conversation ranges from time to share our projects with one another (and get feedback or ideas if requested), to sharing what's going on in our hearts and lives.
