Welcome back to the Richmond Parks & Recreation weekly newsletter! 

The leaves are changing and the temperatures are dropping around us as we enter the new season. With  the change means new events, holidays, and programs to mark your calendar for.

We have a bundle of things that will keep you active, creating memories with friends and family, and joining in on all the fun Fall festivities.

This week's activities include Safari Night with RCS, Senior Center Fall Blood Drive, and the Farmer's Market!

Don't forget to mark your calendars for the The Great Pumpkin 5k, Halloween Candy Drop, Farmer's Market Howl-O-Ween Dog Costume Contest, and MORE! !

Wayne County's Fall Blood Drive


HYPE Wayne County and the Richmond Senior Recreation Center are partnering together for the next blood drive! The Fall Blood Drive on Friday, October 7th will be from 9-2pm at the Richmond Senior Community Center. Registration is still open click the link below!

Howl-O-Ween Dog Costume Contest


Spooky season is approaching and its time to put your paws in the air for the Howl-O-Ween Costume Contest- Sponsored by Hill's Pet Nutrition . On Saturday, October 22nd at the Hill's Bark Park from 1PM-3PM we will be enjoying sweets for humans and fur friends alike, prizes, and giveaways from local animal non-profits, and MORE!

For the costume contest, you can enter your dog into one of three categories: Funniest, Most Creative, or Best Owner/Dog Pair.

Entries are FREE, and can be completed in person the day of the event or in advance online.

Trick or Treat in the Park 


Everyone join us as we enjoy the Trick or Treat in the Park on Saturday October 29th from 5PM-7PM! Get your costumes ready and mark your calendars for this FREE event. There will be games, goodies, and of course CANDY! Local organizations will hand out candy as they are decorated and lined up around the Glen Miller Pond. You won't want to miss out on a night of Halloween fun with the Richmond Parks and Recreation Department!

If your organization or business is interested in handing out candy or being a part of the event, please reach out to the Parks Department at  983-7275 or click below!

Help Support Your Local Farmers, Makers, and Artists at the Summer Farmers Market!

 
Our vendors sell local produce, meat, eggs, honey, baked goods, handcrafted artisan goods, and much more!
