See you @ Cottonwood High For  Some Pre Season Fun?

If you're team is planning on participating, email Doug Hendricks for a current version of the rules.
This year we're going to fill the lag time in between matches with Drone Races!
Mr. Clancy at AMES will be setting up an obstacle course that students can fly drones through while the crowd cheers them on, during that previously dead time in between matches.  Each of the robotics teams competing is invited to have one or two students pilot these drones. (Select your students with the most drone experience). We will have a tournament-style single-elimination bracket. The winner of the tournament will take home a drone as the prize.
Here's some additional information:
•    Drones will be provided. They will be the Holystone HS 210, which costs about $40 on Amazon and which can be found by clicking on this link.
•    Teams may bring their own drones if they prefer, as long as it is the same HolyStone HS 210 model listed above.  Otherwise, AMES will provide drones for use.  (It wouldn't be fair if everyone wasn't using the same model of drone.)
•    The race will involve flying through hoops and then making a safe, controlled landing.
•    Practice flights may be made during the robot setup time prior to 10:00 am.
•    Each race is expected to be 1-2 minutes long, so 2-3 races can be fit in between robotics competitions.
•    A maximum of 2 participants per team will be allowed to sign up.
•    There will be a sign up sheet for the drone tournament at the registration table.
•    Judges and Safety Officers will ensure the safety of participants and spectators by using appropriate PPE and netting for the drones.
