EM/2021/41

REMINDER: Online dialogue meetings for national focal points on the nomination of experts and fellows for the business and biodiversity assessment

Dear IPBES members,

With reference to the notification EM/2022/35, I would like to remind you of the invitation to participate in the online dialogue meetings for national focal points and other Government representatives on the nomination of experts and fellows for the business and biodiversity assessment on 4 October 2022 (EM/2022/31 and EM/2022/32).

You will recall that the IPBES Plenary, at its 9th session in decision IPBES-9/1 approved the undertaking of a methodological assessment of the impact and dependence of business on biodiversity and nature’s contributions to people (business and biodiversity assessment) as outlined in the scoping report for the assessment.

This dialogue meeting aims to facilitate and strengthen engagement by Governments in the nomination of experts and fellows for the business and biodiversity assessment. This will be done through sessions aimed at informing national focal points and other Government representatives on the nomination process and expertise relevant to the assessment, and sessions aimed at sharing experience on national nomination processes in previous and/or ongoing assessments.

National focal points and other Government representatives are invited to register for the meeting on this link: https://ipbes-net.zoom.us/meeting/register/tJ0ld-uhrDgqH9HG7_VInda-TQxoOEe0E99A.
