Issue | September 2022
Dear reader,

Welcome to our September newsletter! In this issue we share with you updates about our latest virtual events and upcoming webinars, our recent publications, and changes in the EHMA Secretariat.

Over the past month, we launched the new report on ‘Essential skills for a resilient and effective European health workforce’ produced in the framework of the EU Health Policy Platform Stakeholder Network on ‘Profiling and Training the Healthcare Workforce of the Future’ in collaboration with Health First Europe. The European Parliament’s Interest Group on Innovation in Health and Social Care gave a platform to present the report, in a virtual event hosted by MEP Istvan Ujhelyi.

Furthermore, in recognition and support of WHO’s World Patient Safety Day 2022, we hosted together with the International Alliance of Patient Organisations (IAPO) a webinar on ‘Medication Without Harm: Fostering Medication Safety in Hospitals’ to call for solidarity and united action by all countries and international partners to reduce medication harm to patients. Another webinar on 'Transforming care delivery in the spirit of value-based healthcare' that we co-organised with Abbott and UNIVANTS of Healthcare Excellence showcased how healthcare providers can design, plan and implement the transition of their care delivery towards Value-Based Healthcare (VBHC) principles, and the role the recognition by UNIVANTS could play in driving this change.

In the meanwhile, our 2022 webinar series on 'Health Management in Action: Fostering health systems' resilience' is going on, aiming to discuss health management topics considered crucial to improve health systems preparedness and response. Four new episodes are taking place in October and registration is open!

Lastly, we announce with a heavy heart that our Events Officer, Ekaterina Sachek, resigned from her position due to family reasons. We wish her all the best for the future and send her our warmest regards.

A lovely beginning of autumn to you,

The EHMA Secretariat
