Dear Friend,

As we celebrate three years of the Metrowest Women's Fund, we continue to be inspired by the women and girls in our community. Their voices and personal stories of perseverance and resilience – despite challenges such as financial setbacks, gender violence, and the pandemic – serve as powerful examples of the strength of our community.

As Co-Founders of the Metrowest Women's Fund, we are driven by a powerful goal: to do our part in making our community a place where women and girls thrive and receive the services they need and deserve.

With thanks to our generous community, we have grown exponentially despite difficult times. We are also proud to announce that the Middlesex Savings Charitable Foundation awarded us a grant to grow our impact and our team – welcome Kristin!

Further, our Needs Assessment highlighted the mental health crisis of our teenage girls and thus guides our next steps. This critical data will inform our vision, educational programming, and grant making in the coming year.

With gratitude,

THE IMPACT OF YOUR GIFTS

“This grant will allow me to focus on school. I will be able to do my assignments without having to worry about feeding my children. This will also help me pay my rent to keep a roof over our heads. I just want to let the donors know that I am extremely grateful. This is really going to help me be able to provide. This also takes a lot of stress off of me that I’ve been experiencing for the past two years. Thank you.”

Alicia Larkin

"I grew up in Massachusetts, raised by a single mother who immigrated to the area from the Canary Islands. While we always had enough and I have fond memories of a happy childhood, I saw my mom's daily struggles of raising children on a very tight budget. I know how fortunate we are to have had her raise us, and I’m excited to pay it forward by working with the Metrowest Women’s Fund which helps bring resources to single working mothers. I hope to make a significant impact by leveraging my experience and my networks to bring awareness, build community and help raise funds to help these local women children."

Alicia Larkin is a sales VP at a multi-billion dollar technology research firm. She is the graduate of Bentley University where she received her Bachelors and MBA degrees.
