The need to breathe for a second after becoming discombobulated; the act of self-gathering; putting back into order; removing confusion.

Welcome to Family Worship!

From Doug Bing, Washington Conference president

We’re inviting you to dedicate specific time with your immediate family or chosen family to unite in worship and prayer each day in October. This is an opportunity to alter (verb) your family’s altar (noun). This is an opportunity to renew your mind and invest in your spiritual growth.

Each day in October, we’ll send you, our Washington ACTS readers, a devotional with prayer and activity prompts that you can adapt to your family’s needs.

You are welcome to gather for family worship either in the morning or evening – whatever time will work best for your family, for however long will work best for your family. Some families who are spread out in different locations will share family worship by group text messages or video calls. Choose what will work best for your family worship time.

Why is family worship important? Why are we encouraging this spiritual growth investment?

Activity Prompt

Discuss as a family how you want to shape your family worship time this month. Talk about why family worship is important to each of you, what you'd like to learn, what habits you would like to form. Determine together a time of day and talk about family accountability. Take time to pray together!

Prayer Prompt

Lord, help our family to grow in You as we seek to alter our family altar. Remove the distractions from our lives. Help us form new habits to be still in Your presence, to rest in you, to find peace and courage to face the challenges of life. Protect our family. Protect our time together in family worship. Show us Your truth. Amen.
