When communicators do not know how to express themselves clearly and succinctly, everyone suffers. How to wield your words and get to the point is most important. Ask yourself, “If listeners could remember only one thing from my speech, what do I want that one thing to be?” This is the basic principle of toastmaster speech.
Here are the meeting highlights of this month. On August 29, Nam delivered a persuasive influence speech on jury system, “Guilty or not guilty?” Patrick’s table topic theme was life challenges. September 11 we had an in-person meeting, Brian gave a sales pitch presentation on robot vacuum. Lorrine led us on table topic theme “Small Talk”. After meeting, we celebrated Moon Festival with delicious moon cakes, thanks to members who contributed. On September 19, Phil continued his level 5 visionary communication speech “Learn, Play, Fun.” Brian’s table topic theme was “Positive from A to Z” to get members’ impromptu speaking on several positive life quotes.
